  [S29] Passport Application, Madeira, (Extraction from actual documents). Perpetua da Silva applied to emigrate to the Sandwich Islands on May 29, 1884 in Funchal, Madeira. The official file appears to be No. 484. She is recorded on the passport with her parents, Francisco da Silva and Maria Roza, natives of the parish of Arco da Calheta and residents of Pinheiro, and her siblings Maria, João, Francisco, and Ludovina. An extraction of her baptism record is included in the application file and attests that on the 8 June 1879 in the parish of São Brás of Arco da Calheta was baptized Perpetua, legitimate daughter of Francisco da Silva das Fontes and Roza de Jesus, natives of this parish and residents of the village of Pinheiro. Granddaughter on her father's side of Francisco da Silva das Fontes and Isabel de Jesus, and on her mother's side of Antonio Fernandes and Anna de Jesus.
